18" x 24" Pad of Drawing Quality Paper, Strathmore or Canson Brand will work. Do not get newsprint! ($12)

Sketch book, small and portable. recommend 8" x 10" ($6)

2 Sticks of Compressed Charcoal ($3)

Soft Vine Charcoal 5-6 sticks ($6)
1 Charcoal pencils ($2)

1 oz Bottle Black Indian Ink ($2, Higgins is a suitable brand)
Large Cheap Bamboo Brush ($3)

1 Regular Pencil (2B or whatever you prefer) ($1)

White Mars Eraser ($1)

Retractable Clic Eraser ($2)

Ball Point Pens

Kneeded Eraser ($1)

I recommend shopping at a local art supply store. The sales associates, are usually artists, and will be able to help you locate these items as well as make suggestions on appropriate substitutes if their store does not carry the specific brands I recommend. Remember to bring proof of registration; most art stores have a student discount.
