Clarissa Szabados-Mish |

A native Italian speaker, Clarissa now resides in Seattle, Washington. Her Italian teaching career began at Berlitz School during her college years at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She holds a Masters in Fine Arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art (1971). Between 1979 and 1985 she taught Italian at The Language School in Seattle, and continued teaching privately even while pursuing other full-time jobs. Clarissa has been teaching at North Seattle Community college since 2000.
Clarissa offers weekend intensive Italian “language camps” on Lopez Island, one of the idyllic islands in the San Juan archipelago where she and her husband have acreage with a house and a guest cabin, a pond, and an organic orchard and garden. Clarissa also leads study tours to Italy where participants can enjoy the authentic flavor of lesser known cities and towns while continuing the study of the language.She is the author of Italiano Vivo-Travel Guide and CD, and has been working on an Italian language textbook for beginners, soon to be released which she uses with great success in her classes at North Seattle Community College.
